¢ Ryan Slater, a 2002 graduate of Lansing High School, recently graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor's degree in film study.

He is now attending the Los Angeles Film School, and recently, out of a class of 70, was awarded a $2,000 scholarship offered by the school.

Ryan is the son of Rick and Julie Slater of Lansing.

¢ A Lansing student at Kansas State University has earned honors from the school's College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University

Caroline Bowlin, Lansing, was the recipient of the Paul and Phyllis Curd Memorial Award and Pfizer Small Animal Clinical Proficiency Award. The awards were handed out at the college's annual honors banquet.

The college presented scholarships and awards to members of the outgoing senior class who have achieved excellence in academics, leadership and specialty areas of study.

¢ Raechel M. Little, a 2005 graduate of Lansing High School, has been named to the National Dean's List.

She is the daughter of Mark and Brenda Little, a member of Phi Theta Kappa and is currently a nursing student at Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Little will transfer to the University of Kansas in fall of 2008 to pursue a master's degree in nursing.

¢ Brandon Mills, Lansing, has received the Music Foundation Scholarship from Pittsburg State University for his achievements in music.

Brandon is a freshman at Pittsburg State for the 2007-08 academic year and will major in music education. He is the son of Vernon and Cheryl Mills, Lansing.

In addition to Brandon's participation in musicals and talent shows, he is currently involved with forensics, choir, track and cross country.

¢ A Lansing student at the University of Missouri-Rolla has been named to the school's honor roll.

Patrick Alan Courtney, a sophomore studying biological sciences and the son of Rebecca and Donald Courtney, made the honor list for the 2007 spring semester.

Students on the list carried a minimum of 12 hours and had grade-point averages of 3.2 or above out of a possible 4.0.

¢ Melissa F. Wagner, Lansing, earned a spot on the dean's list at Missouri State University for the spring 2007 semester.

The students who made the dean's list all showed excellence in academics with a grade point average of 3.50 or higher. Wagner is one of 3,628 students to make the dean's list out of the 13,592 .

¢ Michael David Keller, Lansing, graduated from Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa, in May.

Keller got a degree in powerline technology.

¢ Regan Krebs, Lansing High graduate, has received the Capt. W.J. and Lotta L. Watson scholarships from Pittsburg State University for achievement in academics.

Regan is a freshman majoring in art. She is the daughter of Anne Johnson, Lansing.

¢ Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Christopher A. Blaski has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Kenneth and Linda Blaski of Leavenworth. Blaski is a 2003 graduate of Leavenworth High School.
