To the Editor:
As a parent of a child in the Basehor-Linwood school district, I'd like to give a heartfelt "thanks" to my fellow affirmative voters on the school bond issue.
Thank you for valuing our children's educational resources whether or not you have children yourselves.
I moved here recently from a community where school bond issues always pass with ease. I find it a disheartening shame that nearly half of the voters in our community felt that their few hundred dollars a year could be better spent elsewhere.
If you are part of a community it is your responsibility to better that community. Telling the children in your own community that they don't deserve updated and competitive educational resources is appalling to me.
So thanks again to those who care. Common sense and the greater good have prevailed.
