Theater tickets help scholarships

November 21, 2007

A dinner theater production next week will raise funds for scholarships for area high school students.

A.I.M., Art in Motion, will present "Curse You, Otis Crummy!!" Friday, Nov. 30, at Riverfront Community Center in Leavenworth. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner beginning at 6 p.m., followed by the performance at 7:30 p.m.

"Curse You, Otis Crummy!!" is described as "an amazingly exciting tale of a young man who would risk his name to protect the law, a lovely lady who falls for the wrong guy, and a villain that steals from the poor."

The "highly interactive" western melodrama was written by Tim Kelly. Joyce Williams of Lansing is the director with assistance from Darlene Nichols. The producer is Diane Smith. The show stars a cast of local talent, Williams said.

The dinner menu includes pulled pork, fried chicken, cheesy potatoes, green beans, tossed and fruit salads, biscuits and dessert. Tickets cost $35 and are available by calling (913) 651-7608.
