Mass of Christian Burial for Georgia Helen Braswell, 77, of Lansing, was Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Leavenworth. Burial was at Mount Muncie Cemetery, Lansing.
Mrs. Braswell died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan.
She was born Feb. 22, 1930, in Oneida, Wis., the daughter of Louis and Helen (Krysanek) Clark. She graduated from St. Joseph's in Green Bay, Wis., and she attended St. Francis Academy's noviate program for three years becoming a member of The Third Order of St. Francis.
She enlisted in the U.S. Army serving for three years. She worked as an operator for Western Union in Chicago. She moved to the Leavenworth /Lansing area in 1959 and made her permanent home.
She married George Braswell in 1955; he survives of the home.
A son, Vincent David, and a daughter, Georgette Ruth, died earlier.
Other survivors include a son, George Jr., Leavenworth; two daughters, Jean Stritt, Monroe, Mich., and Julie Mangels, Salina; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Braswell's name for the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth.
