Veteran’s crisis hotline started

October 11, 2007

The VA Heartland Network has established a Crisis Intervention Hotline to help veterans dealing with a mental health crisis or difficult issues in their lives.

The toll-free hotline is available seven days a week, 24-hours a day at (888) 899-9377. Callers can remain anonymous if desired and will be able to speak to registered nurses with training and experience in crisis intervention.

The new crisis intervention hotline will expand previous help available to focus on the mental health needs of veterans of Iraq, Afghanistan and the Global War on Terrorism.
