Bond ballot deadline nearing

October 18, 2007

All registered voters in USD 458 should have received a ballot regarding the Basehor-Linwood school district proposed bond issue in the mail. The ballot is in a large white envelope marked "election" in black lettering. Voting instructions for the mail-in election are located inside the envelope along with a ballot and return envelope.

Ballots are to be marked in black or blue ink. Remember to sign the outside of the return envelope and print your residence address -- no P.O. boxes.

According to district superintendent Bob Albers, as of Tuesday, 3,008 ballots have been turned into the Leavenworth County Clerk's office. However, 1,012 ballots have been returned by the post office as not deliverable. Those that are registered voters and have not yet received a ballot are encouraged to call the Leavenworth County Clerk's office at (913) 684-0421. Ballots need to be returned to the County Clerk's office by noon, Thursday, Oct. 25.

For more information regarding the bond, please visit the district Web site at Additional questions can be directed to Albers or assistant superintendent David Howard at (913) 724-1396.
