Cushing doctor to learn in China

Michael Keohane, R.N., a certified diabetes educator at Cushing Memorial Hospital, will travel to China this month to participate in a formal exchange of information with China's Ministry of Health.

Keohane is going as one of 25 U.S. representatives from the American Association of Diabetes Educators.

Keohane and his wife will make the two-week trip to China in late October, making stops in Hong Kong, Beijing, Xian and Shanghai. They will be among a delegation of 25 certified diabetes educators and 15 guests.

Keohane is the current president of the Kansas City chapter of the American Association of Diabetes Educators and has been teaching diabetes management at Cushing Memorial Hospital for the past 10 years.
