BLHS volleyball had winning seasons
Basehor-Linwood High School volleyball teams played winning volleyball this season.
The varsity volleyball team won more than 20 matches under coach Tammy Zydlo.
The Basehor-Linwood freshman and junior varsity volleyball teams also had successful seasons.
The junior varsity team ended its season with a record of 22-7. They had two wins over Wyandotte and Bonner Springs on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
"I'm really proud of Coach Irvin and the players for having such a successful season," Zydlo said. "The players had a lot of good court chemistry and it shows in their great record."
The Freshman team finished with a 17-13 record.
The team's final night of match play included a pair of wins over Piper and Bishop Ward high schools on Oct. 11.
"We saw a lot of improvement in their fundamentals from the beginning of the season," Zydlo said. "They are a really good passing team which contributed to their successful season. Coach Matthews did a great job of teaching the players the game and challenging them to do their best."
