Basehor-Linwood Middle School football teams opens season with victory

The Basehor-Linwood seventh grade football teams are off to a strong start this season.
The varsity seventh grade team defeated Lansing Middle School 26-8 and the junior varsity team won 6-0.
In the varsity game, the Bulldogs controlled the clock in the first half as Lansing ran only 8 plays of offense with one of those being a punt.
The Bulldogs had touchdowns by Tanner Garver on a reception from tailback Drew Potter and a short run by Ben Johnson and led 12-0 at halftime.
The eighth grade team also won its game, 16-14. Jessie Hiss scored a touchdown in the game. The team has won eight straight games from last year.

The Clark Middle School seventh grade 'A' volleyball team won two games on Sept. 5 by defeating Leavenworth Warren, 25-9, 25-16.
The team also defeated Turner 25-17, 25-20 in two games.

CMS eighth graders lose to Royal Valley
The eighth grade 'A' football team lost a tough game to Royal Valley, 22-20 in double overtime.

The Clark Middle School eighth-grade A volleyball team defeated Turner, 25-20, 25-14 last week.
Miranda Hackney scored nine straight points in the first game while Bobbi Allred scored eight straight in the second game to hand us the victory.
The second match was against Turner. It was a true battle of serves but once again our serves proved to be too hard to handle. Hackney and Allred again dominated at the service line.
The final scores 23-25, 25-8 and 15-12.
