Basehor-Linwood splits matches against Lansing, Perry-Lecompton
Basehor-Linwood volleyball players split a pair of matches on Tuesday night improving their season record to 10-4.
The Bobcats defeated Perry Lecompton, 25-11, 25-15 in the first match of the night.
"It was a slower match than what we are typically used to," Zydlo said. "We didn't play our usual aggressive game, but we were able to get the win and it all worked out."
Basehor-Linwood lost to Lansing 25-27, 25-7 in the second match. The first game is the one that got away, Zydlo said.
"We did have to battle back," she said. "We were down six points in the first match. Lansing made a few mistakes, but we were able to tie the game and basically traded back and forth the points."
The score in the first game was 26-25 when Lansing scored the game-winning point.
"We had a couple tips where I would like to see more aggressive play," Zydlo said. "They played well that first game and I saw some good things."
In play last week, on Sept. 12, Basehor-Linwood won all three games. The team defeated Jackson Heights, 25-21, 25-15 in the first game. In the next game, Basehor rolled by Maur Hill, 25-9, 25-8.
In the final match of the night Basehor defeated Piper in three games, 26-24, 15-25, 25-13.
