Carnegie Arts Center sets spring class schedule

The Carnegie Arts Center has announced a new schedule of classes for the spring season.

The Carnegie Arts Center, 601 S. 5th Streer, is a private non-profit fine arts organization and a member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts. Some programs are supported in part by the Kansas Arts Commission, a state agency, and the National Endowment of the Arts, a federal agency, and the Leavenworth Parks and Recreation Dept. Anyone is eligible to participate or become a member of the Carnegie regardless of age and ability. Scholarships are available.

¢ Classical Ballet:

The focus of this class will be classical technique as well as enhancing performance skills. All students must have at least one year of experience, and students with pointe experience will be evaluated. Students are required to wear a pink or black leotard, pink or black tights and ballet shoes (with elastic strap). Ages 13 to adult are permitted. The class will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays from April 16 to May 21. The cost of the this class is $120 for members and $125 for non-members.

¢ Musikgarten (birth-18 months)

Musikgarten is a sequential music and development program for children, which is designed to awaken and develop your child's inborn joy and talent for making music. With Musikgarten, your child steps across that important bridge from general music learning to instrumental skills. Ages birth to 18 months are permitted. The class will be held from 9:15 to 10 a.m. Thursdays from April 17 to May 22. The cost is $95 for members and $100 for non-members.

¢ Musikgarten (18 months-3 years)

This is class will be held from 10:15 to 11 a.m. Thursday from April 17 to May 22. The cost is $95 for members and $100 for non-members.

¢Musikgarten (3 years -5 years)

MUSIKGARTEN

This class will be held from 11:15 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday from April 17 to May 22. The cost is $95 for members and $100 for non-members.
