Tickets available for Mayor’s Banquet
Tickets are on sale for the annual Bonner Springs Mayor's Banquet, which will be 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at United Methodist Church, 425 W. Morse. This is the first event of the annual Tiblow Days celebration.
At the event, Mayor Clausie Smith will give his "State of the City" report, and the city's top volunteer award, the Marion Vaughn Community Service Award, will be presented.
The featured speaker will be David Warm, executive director of the Mid-America Regional Council.
Before coming to MARC, Warm was city administrator for Liberty, Mo., and also served in administrative positions with the city of Kansas City, Mo.
Warm is active in state and national professional associations and is a member of civic, school and church-related initiatives. In 2006, he was inducted as a fellow into the National Academy of Public Administration and also received the Walter Scheiber Leadership Award from the National Association of Regional Councils.
Tickets are priced at $17, and include dinner, a beverage and dessert. Tickets are available at Bonner Springs City Hall, 205 E. Second St., Bonner Springs-Edwardsville Chamber of Commerce, 111 Oak St., or from Del Coleman of the Bonner Springs Rotary Club.
