Gold PRIDE shares news, membership
The Basehor Gold PRIDE members welcomed new teachers to the Basehor-Linwood School District and the community with a "Welcome Luncheon" Aug. 7. About 46 people attended. The members visited with the new teachers and administrators to let them know - we do support them.
The members voted to give the Basehor-Linwood Assistance Services (BLAS) organization $250 to help buy supplies for the schools in the Basehor-Linwood School District. We hope this will help those who need help with their supplies since the economy is so stressed this year.
We are making plans for a thank you luncheon for the police officers and firefighters in our community. We want to let them know we appreciate all they do for the community. We realize they put their lives on the line every day for our community safety.
Gold PRIDE is a group of citizens age 55 and older. We get together the second Wednesday of each month and eat together, then have a short business meeting. On the fourth Wednesday, we go out to eat somewhere for "fellowship." We do not have any dues and you are welcome to join us. The first time you attend you are a guest and if you enjoy us, when you attend after that, you are considered a friend and a member. We welcome you to join us on the second and fourth Wednesday.
