BLHS girls advance to tournament finals
Members of the Basehor-Linwood girls basketball team used a 20-3 second-quarter run to take control of a semifinal game against Osawatomie on Friday at the Central Heights Tournament.
The Bobcats won the game 57-19.
“Yes, it was a good win,” coach Noah Simpson said. “We came out and played well from the beginning.”
Bren Koontz led the team in scoring with 14 points. Megan Bergstrom scored 13 points. Cassie Bever scored 10 points and Macyn Sanders finished with 8 points.
"We did a great job of spreading the ball around, the players stepped up and played great tean basketball tonight," Simpson said.
With the win, Basehor-Linwood advances to play St. James Academy at 5:45 p.m. today.
The game is a rematch of last year’s sub-state semifinal game.
“We have to come out prepared and focused if we want to be successful,” Simpson said.
