BLMS basketball teams win games
Colin Murphy scored 16 points and led the Basehor-Linwood Middle School eighth grade basketball team to a 52-31 win over Piper on Monday.
Sklyar Barnes scored eight points in the game. The team's other scorers were Dalton Mellies, three, Kyle Cole, three and Russ Clark, two.
In junior varsity play, Basehor-Linwood Middle School lost to Piper Middle School 32-30.
Nick Davis and Brady Hooks led Basehor with seven points. Steven Coy finished with five points.
Jacob Clopton and Marcus Box each scored three points. Ryan Shaffer finished with one point.
In seventh grade play, Tanner Garver scored 17 points and teammate Ben Johnson finished with 14 to lead the team to a 43-28 victory.
The Bobcats other scorers in the game were Aaron Williams, three; Caleb Hiss, five; Paul Rehm, four.
The eighth grade junior varsity team also defeated Monticello Trails 32-26 on Jan. 21. Davis led the team with 10 points. Coy led the team with points and Beau Barger also scored six points.
The Basehor-Linwood eighth grade varsity team defeated Monticello Trails 43-13.
Murphy scored 16 points.
In seventh grade play against Monticello Trails the Bobcats won 46-30. Ben Johnson led the team with 15 points and Tyler Garver scored 13.
In junior varsity play, the team defeated Monticello Trails 42-25. Smith led the team with eight points. Gage Zumbrunn and Sammy Seaton each scored four points.
