Historic society to meet
Much happened in Bonner Springs during World War II, and members of the Bonner Springs Historic Preservation Society will reflect on those days during their annual meeting on Thursday, March 13, at the Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
Anyone who has pictures, mementoes sor artifacts is encouraged to contact Connie Harrington (422-5452), Pat Sheley (441-1729) or Connie Steele (441-4435) so that exhibits may produce a good representation of those days.
The meeting is open to the public. Social hour begins at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. and the program at 7 p.m. For information on prices, please contact Jeannine Gallagher (441-4217).
Members hope to help those who lived here during the war remember all that happened within the communities of Bonner, Edwardsville, Wilder and Loring, including growing Victory Gardens, using rations, saving metal, collecting grease, etc.
Members would be especially interested in gathering as much information as possible about the prisoner of war camps that were located in the area.
