Read 100 Stories
Lansing Community Library is issuing a challenge this spring to all our patrons. We challenge you to "Read 100 Stories!" This challenge begins on Feb. 19 and continues through National Library Week, which is April 13-19. You can pick up more information on this program in the Library.
William Allen White Award
The William Allen White Children's Book Award is an award presented by the state of Kansas annually and you can help choose the winner.
Each year there are 25 books nominated for the award. The winner is selected by Kansas youth in third through eighth grades. Our Library has the entire collection of this year's nominees and we've planned a special program for where you can vote for your favorite book. Simply read at least three books from the list before March 31. The program will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 1.
New Library Cards
If you have not yet picked up your new library card, please stop in soon. The new library card also includes a key tag as well as the standard card.
Lansing Community Library hours of operation are: Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The library will be closed on Monday, Feb. 18, in observance of Presidents' Day.
