Teams will play for tournament titles on Saturday

Senior Brooke Sanders goes up for two points against the Holton defense Thursday night in semifinal action in the Bobcat Basketball Invitational tournament. Sanders had 10-points for the night.

Basehor-Linwood trailed 16-14 at halftime, but used a 17-5 run over the duration of the third quarter Thursday night to surge past Holton. The 38-32 win propels the Lady Bobcats into the championship game at 6 p.m. Saturday. Brooke Sanders led BLHS with 10 points, three rebounds and three assists.

Boys' summary

Tanner Swafford scored 15 points and Chandler Schaake added 12, leading Basehor-Linwood to a 54-44 victory over Ottawa in the semifinals of the Bobcat Basketball Invitational. The Bobcats were able to withstand the 22 points scored by Cyclones big man Brandon Tuner, who fouled out with about two minutes left in the game. BLHS will play in the championship game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
