Think first about Bonner
June 11, 2008
To the editor:
My cousin from Topeka and I take periodic “memory-making” day trips, visiting surrounding areas for adventure, antiques and whatever else we might be on a mission for — or find accidentally!
This past Saturday our plan was to spend the day in Weston, Mo. As we were driving through Bonner, we decided to first go in the shops that we have to offer. I have to tell you, the merchants in Bonner are the most welcoming, sweetest people. They work so hard at what they are doing to help create a town that we can be proud of … and I was!
The little shops had things creatively displayed outside their doorways. We went in — each of us finding treasures to load in my car. We actually had more success and had more fun right here in my dear hometown. Angie was amazed at what was here.
About a year and a half ago I began working as the receptionist at an office here in Bonner. It is easy for me to recommend the area to potential clients. I have lived here (basically) since I was 3 years old, and I have to say it is right where I want to be. This is home.
So many people are to thank for working to make this all a reality, from the friendly shopkeepers to people like our hard-working Marcia Ashford in City Hall, who always is quick to credit others.
I just want to say “Thank You” to all of you.
It would be wise for us to “think first” about shopping in Bonner Springs. You won’t be disappointed!
