Cushing CEO earns designation

June 12, 2008

Ron Baker, CEO of Cushing Memorial Hospital, recently became a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the nation's leading professional society for healthcare leaders. The certification continues through 2011.

The group only has 7,500 fellows nationwide. To obtain status, candidates must pass an exam, meet academic and experiential requirements, earn continuing education credits and demonstrate community involvement. ACHE fellows are up for recertification every three years.

Baker was appointed CEO of Cushing Memorial Hospital in February 2008 after holding several executive positions with Saint Luke's Health System. He holds a master's degree in health administration from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, and a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Kansas Association of Health Care Executives (KAHCE).
