Jaywalkers walk into 200th event

The Kansas Jaywalkers of Leavenworth, the local volkssporting (walking) club, will celebrate its 200th event at 9 a.m. April 5 at the Eisenhower Veteran's Center.

The event will consist of a 10 kilometer or 5 kilometer walk. The trail will be on paved roads on the VA grounds. The award for this event is a commemorative 200th-event glass. All veterans will receive a complimentary patch for their participation.

There is a pre-registration fee of $6 before the event or $7 on the day of the event. The last day to pre-register is March 28 and the event is open to the public. The walk will start at the Domiciliary, building 160 at the Eisenhower Veteran's Center.
