KDOT had suggested removal of the light at a future date because it did not meet the one-mile signal light spacing guidelines set during the study. In response to complaints from several residents, especially business owners near the intersection, the city has been in negotiations for months to try to prevent the future removal of the light at what is now Basehor’s main intersection.
