BLHS grad to join Air Force Prep School
Basehor-Linwood High School graduate Andrew Stueckemann was recently nominated by Rep. Nancy Boyda for an appointment to the Naval Academy Preparatory School. He received this appointment as well as one to the Air Force Academy Preparatory School and a Naval ROTC four-year scholarship from Kansas University.
He chose the Air Force Academy Prep School and will report to Colorado Springs for training in mid-July.
Stueckemann was a multi-sport and choir letter winner and was involved in school plays, the National Honor Society and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at BLHS. He also participated in community service activities with the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post and has been a lifeguard at Great Wolf Lodge since 2006.
He is excited to have the opportunity to wear Air Force Blue and his goal following commissioning is to be a fighter pilot.
