Jenkins sets record in Kansas Congressional campaign contributions
TOPEKA– State Treasurer Lynn Jenkins on Monday announced she will report raising more than $640,000 in the past 2.5 months toward her bid for Congress. This past fundraising quarter, cut short by the pre-primary reports, makes Jenkins' haul the largest ever in the history of Kansas Congressional campaigns. Jenkins is challenging Democratic incumbent Nancy Boyda for Kansas' 2nd Congressional District after winning a tight primary race against former Rep. Jim Ryun.
"Kansans are showing their support for change and demanding new leadership to represent them in Washington," State Treasurer Lynn Jenkins said. "The last few months are a testament to hard work and having a message that people want to hear. A message of lower taxes, returning fiscal sanity to Congress, and finally ending our dependence on foreign oil."
Jenkins has been endorsed by Kansas groups such as the Kansas Farm Bureau, the Kansas Livestock Association and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
