BLHS soccer washed against Maur Hill
Basehor-Linwood’s game against Maur Hill was rained out on Monday.
There were four lightning delays in the game, which occurred 6:34 in the first period.
“Neither team had any rhythm of any sort,” coach Kevin Vincent said. “We had three delays and then finally decided to call it. They came from Atchison and wanted to give it as much time as we could.”
The game likely will not be rescheduled because it was rained out too late in the year. The Class 4-1A regional soccer tournament begins next week.
Basehor-Linwood plans to celebrate Senior Night at 6 p.m. today with a game against Bonner Springs.
“I think that Bonner Springs is one of our rivals and we did not play well against them the last time,” Vincent said. “We have a lot to prove and we want momentum going into regionals.”
The regional seeding meeting will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at Olathe East High School. The Bobcats will be placed into one of three Northeast Kansas regionals. Other teams in those regionals include Atchison, Maur Hill Mount Academy, De Soto, Eudora, Piper, Sumner Academy, Bishop Ward, Immaculata, St. James Academy, Perry-Lecompton, Kansas City Christian, Maranatha Academy and Tonganoxie.
