Event raises $1,600 for kidney research

September 18, 2008

A local business helped raise $1,600 recently for a good cause.

Kobi's Club & Deli, 113 Oak St., staged its 16th annual motorcycle show on Sept. 6, and through a raffle and an auction of goods donated by local businesses, money was raised to donate to the PKD Foundation in the name of a Edgerton, Mo., boy.

The PKD Foundation raises funds for research and education on polycystic kidney disease, and the money raised at Kobi's was donated in the name of RJ Domingo, an Edgerton, Mo., 14-year-old who has been diagnosed with the hereditary disease.
