BSHS freshmen move to 4-0
The Bonner Springs High School freshman football team traveled to Basehor-Linwood on Thursday, Sept. 18, and the Braves returned home with a 34-20 victory.
Basehor jumped out to a quick 14-6 lead during the first three minutes of the game, but the Bonner Springs defense toughened up the rest of the way.
The Braves' defense forced two fumbles and made three big stops on fourth down. Devon Schubert had two quarterback sacks for BSHS and Aaron Rudolph added another.
J.J. Jackson scored Bonner's first touchdown on a 70-yard kick return. Monte Cox scored a third-quarter touchdown and later scored on a 2-point conversion. Bonner (4-0) returned to action Monday and rolled to a 46-18 victory over Lansing. The BSHS offense scored four touchdowns, Steve Williams intercepted a pass for a touchdown and J.J. Jackson returned a kickoff for a score.
