Winter weather advisory continues through Wednesday morning
Officials with the Kansas Department of Transportation say more snow is imminent in Wyandotte County, and the area will continue to be under a winter advisory until 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Kim Qualls, public affairs manager with KDOT, said there is a 100 percent chance of snowfall before midnight Wednesday morning and the accumulation could be anywhere from 1-3 inches. A combination of cold wind values and wind gusts of up to 37 mph will make for slick road conditions throughout the night, she said.
Safe driving tips include allowing plenty of driving time, turning on headlights and leaving a safe cushion of space between yourself and the driver ahead of you.
