Slow start costs BLHS girls in loss to Lansing
Amy Briggs scored 23 points and led Lansing to a 56-36 victory against Basehor-Linwood on Friday at BLHS.
Lansing led 13-1 at the end of the first quarter as Briggs made three shots from 3-point range. The Bobcats didn’t have much of answer in the quarter as they committed turnovers and fouls and missed shots.
It was the third straight game where BLHS has started slow.
Briggs was joined in double figures by Katie Delich who scored 10 points.
Lansing led 22-11 at halftime and was up 42-22 entering the fourth quarter. Basehor-Linwood outscored Lansing 14-13 in the fourth quarter, but failed to cut the deficit further.
Cassy Bever led the team with 11 points. Jamie Johnson and Cara McCarty each scored 8 points. Megan Bergstrom scored 5 points.
