Letter: Thanks from the Salvation Army

February 19, 2009

To the editor:

On behalf of The Salvation Army and all those we serve, we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all your readers who helped make this another successful Christmas season.

This year, we received so much help from service groups, churches, families, school groups and other organizations who volunteered countless hours in ringing the bells. These volunteers, and all who helped by filling the red kettles and mailing in contributions, have made a huge impact on our efforts. Together we are helping people in significant ways.

Because of the generosity throughout the community, neighbors in need are receiving help not just at Christmas time, but all though the year. Thank you again for playing such an important role in the work of The Salvation Army where you live.

As we see the need growing due to the economic situation we find ourselves in, it is great to see communities coming together to help those less fortunate during this stressful time. We are here to help those that need it within the limit of our funds. Giving of your time and treasures can never be thanked enough, but because of our great volunteers and donors, we are working to help people throughout the community.

If you are interested in donating or volunteering during the coming year, please call (800) 336-4547 ext. 368 for more information.

May God bless you!
