Eagle Day is Jan. 17 in KCK
The eighth annual Eagle Day celebration will be Jan. 17 at the Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Schlagle Library in Kansas City, Kan.
Operation Wildlife will present live eagle presentations at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. New this year will be the showing of the PBS nature series, “American Eagle” following each live eagle presentation.
The birds of prey exhibit and children crafts and activities will be available from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Visitors with valid Kansas City, Kansas Public Library cards can check out binoculars for viewing the live eagles that fly over the lake during the winter as well as the large variety of waterfowl that visit during the winter.
The Board of Public Utilities and the Kansas City, Kansas Public Library is sponsoring the event. The library is at Wyandotte County Lake Park, 91st and Leavenworth Road, Kansas City, Kan., just a mile east of Interstate 435. Registration is not needed. Call (913) 299-2384 for more information.
