Q: When did you move to the Basehor area, and what brought you there?
A: My father, Les Meyer, has owned the vineyard property at 158th and State Ave., since the early 1980s. We started the vineyard together in 1986 with 400 grapevines. I moved to my home on the property in 2000.
Q: What’s the biggest risk you’ve ever taken?
A: Flying trapeze lessons!
Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
A: From my dad, "If you love what you do for a living, it will never feel like work.”
Q: What three things would you want people to know about you?
A: I love my life, I have great friends who are like family to me, and I like to mow grass!
Q: What did you want to be when you grew up?
A: Do I have to grow up? I love working outside, and I love wine; I have the best of both worlds.
Q: What’s your ideal vacation spot?
A: Anywhere I can learn about vineyards and wine. I have traveled all over the world, and high on my list is New Zealand. I also love going to my best friend's home in Colorado.
Favorite song: I listen to talk radio. If I have to pick a song it would be "Wonderful, Wonderful" by Johnny Mathis.
