Bobcats to play Trinity on Wednesday

Basehor-Linwood will play Wichita Trinity Academy in the opening round of the Class 4A state tournament this week.
The game will tip off at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Bicentennial Center in Salina. Trinity Academy enters with a 22-1 record and is the No. 3 seed. Basehor-Linwood, 19-4, enters as the No. 6 seed.
Trinity won the sub-state tournament played at Wellington. In the first round, Trinity Academy defeated Mulvane, 79-56.
In the semifinal game, Trinity Academy defeated Wellington, 65-58, to advance to the title game. In the title game, Trinity Academy defeated Rose Hill, 67-46.
Trinity Academy plays in the Central Plains League. This season, Trinity Academy’s only loss was to Wichita Collegiate, 59-56, in triple overtime of the Bluestem Classic.
Trinity Academy also has state experience, winning the Class 3A state championship in 2008 before moving up to 4A this season.
Trinity Academy is a College Preparatory High School in Wichita and has an enrollment of 311 students. The school opened in 1992 and offers a faith-based education to students.
If Basehor-Linwood wins the tournament opener, it would play the winner of No. 2 Heston, 22-1, and No. 7 Ottawa, 17-6, at 8:15 p.m. Friday.
