Salina Even a third-quarter lull wasn't enough to stop the Basehor-Linwood Bobcats on Friday night in their Class 4A state semifinal game against Ottawa.
When you build a 19-point halftime lead, you buy yourself a little extra time to regroup.
Ottawa pulled as close as nine in the second half, but the Bobcats soon rebuilt their lead and cruised to a 65-50 victory at the Bicentennial Center.
BLHS will play Girard at 6:15 p.m. Saturday for the state championship.

After a slow start in the state quarterfinals, the Basehor-Linwood boys could do no wrong during the first half of their Class 4A state semifinal game against Ottawa.
The Bobcats shot a blistering 66 percent from the field, making 14 of 21 field goals — including 5 of 7 on 3-point attempts — while building a 36-17 lead at halftime.
Chandler Schaake has 11 points and Ryan Murphy has 10 to lead BLHS in the first half.
The Bobcats have turned the ball over just three times while playing a fierce, harassing man-to-man defense against the Cyclones and forcing nine turnovers.
Adam Hasty leads Ottawa with 8 points at halftime. The Cyclones are shooting 40 percent.
