BLMS wins tourney titles

The Basehor Middle School seventh- and eighth-grade boys basketball teams competed Feb. 26 at their home tournament. Both squads placed first.

In the seventh-grade championship, BLMS edged Piper, 48-42.

Chase Younger led the way with a game-high 19 points, Tim Sanders had 11, J.P. Downing scored 10, Sean Potter had 6 and Avery Fliger chipped in 2.

In the eighth-grade championship game, the Bulldogs defeated Monticello Trails, 45-37.

Ben Johnson paced Basehor with 21 points, Tanner Garver scored 11, Alec Otting had 8, Drew Potter scored 2, Aaron Williams had 2 and Caleb Hiss chipped in 1.

Both BLMS squads closed out the season with 11-2 records.
