Leavenworth County, surrounding area in wind advisory
Leavenworth County remains in a wind advisory until 7 p.m. Monday.
According to the National Weather service, the south winds early in the afternoon across eastern Kansas and wester Missouri will continue in the 25-35 mph range, with occasional gusts from 40-50 mph.
Leavenworth County also will be in a flash flood watch from midnight to 9 a.m. Tuesday. There's a potential for thunderstorms overnight producing rainfall from 1 to 3 inches. Leavenworth, as well as Wyandotte, Johnson, Miami and Linn counties are in the watch area.
