Bracket set for Class 4A baseball regional

Tyler Henley was nearly untouchable as he pitched Basehor-Linwood to a 6-0 victory over Bishop Ward on May 8. The Bobcats could face a rematch with Ward in the second round of the Class 4A regional tournament.

Tyler Henley was nearly untouchable as he pitched Basehor-Linwood to a 6-0 victory over Bishop Ward on May 8. The Bobcats could face a rematch with Ward in the second round of the Class 4A regional tournament.

The Basehor-Linwood baseball team (11-7) has earned the No. 4 seed in the Class 4A regional tournament slated for Monday and Wednesday at Eisenhower Field.

The Bobcats will play No. 5 seed Atchison (8-7) at 12:30 p.m. Monday in the first round.

A BLHS victory would move the Bobcats into a 2 p.m. Wednesday semifinal contest against the winner of Bishop Ward (14-3) and Piper (8-10).

The tournament championship will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Eisenhower Field.

FIRST ROUND — MONDAY, MAY 18

*all games at Eisenhower Field

12:30 p.m. — No. 4 Basehor-Linwood (11-7) vs. No. 5 Atchison (8-7)

2:30 p.m. — No. 2 St. James Academy (13-6) vs. No. 7 Spring Hill (9-11)

4:30 p.m. — No. 3 Sumner Academy (9-5) vs. No. 6. Maranatha Academy/KC Christian (8-9)

6:30 p.m. — No. 1 Bishop Ward (14-3) vs. No. 8 Piper (8-10)

SEMIFINALS/FINALS — WEDNESDAY, MAY 20

*all games at Eisenhower Field

2 p.m. — Ward/Piper winner vs. Basehor/Atchison winner

4:30 p.m. — St. James/Spring Hill winner vs. Sumner/Maranatha winner

7 p.m. — Semifinal winners play for the regional championship and a state tournament berth.
