Linemen to compete Saturday in Bonner Springs
More than 200 three-person teams and 250 apprentices from around the world will participate in this year’s 26th annual International Lineman’s Rodeo.
The event will be from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame, 630 Hall of Fame Drive.
Competitions at the event will include the Pole Climb, Hurtman Rescue and two mystery events. The Rodeo is an opportunity for some friendly competition as well as a chance to demonstrate the skills linemen use daily.
Competitors are scored on speed, work quality and most importantly, application of safety procedures.
The event is open to the public and admission is free. There are activities for families at the rodeo grounds and the adjacent Agricultural Hall of Fame’s “Farm Town USA.”
