Letters: Tiblow Day thanks
To the editor:
On behalf of the Bonner Springs-Edwardsville Chamber of Commerce, I would like to thank everyone who had a part in making the 2009 Tiblow Days Festival a great event for Bonner Springs and the area. The festival was raised to a higher level this year with more bands, vendor booths, barbecue competitors and car show participants. The Mayor’s Banquet, parade and carnival increased in size as well.
Tiblow Days co-sponsors were Holliday Sand and Gravel, Bonner Springs Travel and Tourism, KQRC 98.9 TheRock, Atmos Energy, Oldcastle APG Midwest, Dean Machinery, Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Budweiser, Deffenbaugh Industries, Murphy Tractor and Shawnee Copy Center.
Smokin’ on Oak BBQ Competition co-sponsors were Tiner Construction, Union Bank & Trust, Oldcastle APG Midwest, Harrington Family, Dave Pierce American Family Insurance and Perry and Trent Law Firm.
Tiblow Days Car Show sponsors were O’Reilly Auto Parts, Stephan’s Amoco, Berning Tire, Trinity Automotive, Keith Roberts Auto Plaza and Heartland Auto.
Thank you also to Coleman Equipment for donating equipment; USD 204 for space and assistance for the Mayor’s Banquet; Able Inc. for donating space for the VIP reception; SIOBA for donating space for the post-parade dignitary reception; Jane Casey for use of property for booths; and Parks and Recreation Department for use of the Community Center for the barbecue competition.
It takes many volunteers to coordinate, organize and work an event of this size. Thank you to all the outstanding volunteers who helped make Tiblow Days a fun, safe, memorable community event. Thank you everyone!
