6News showing live from Basehor

September 10, 2009

Sunflower Broadband Channel 6News will bring a live telecast to Basehor at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16. The 30-minute broadcast will take place in Basehor City Park.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m., members of the public can come to the park to meet many of the on-air news, sports and weather personalities of Channel 6 and see a live newscast behind the scenes.

“We think this is a great way to say thanks to our viewers in Basehor for making 6News a part of their lives. We hope the turnout is great,” 6News Director Cody Howard said.

Much of the day’s newscast will be devoted to issues and news items from Basehor.

In addition to the Basehor appearance, 6News will telecast live Sept. 23 from South Park in Lawrence and Sept. 30 from Pilla Park in Eudora. There will be free bratwurst, soda and water for the first 150 people at each location.

Businesses or organizations that would like to have a presence at the event can contact Kevin Lashley at (785) 856-7222 or e-mail klashley@sunflowerbroadband.com. Nonprofits, civic and school organizations should contact Cathy Hamilton at 785-832-6319 or chamilton@sunflowerbroadband.com.
