April 21, 2010

Q: What is the significance of Earth Day?

A: Earth Day is meant to bring awareness to the public concerning the need to protect and conserve our natural resources.

A: Earth Day started in1970, this was also when the Environmental Protection Agency was formed.

Q: How can people celebrate Earth Day on their own?

A: Anyone can find a local Water Festival or Earth Day celebration to attend. But if you want to celebrate on your own, I would suggest choosing at least three actions you will commit to that will improve the Earth. Some examples are: use less water, drive less and walk more, reuse and recycle, not to use aerosols, use natural pesticides and fertilizers, etc.

A: One year I put up a bat house and now we have much fewer mosquitoes bothering us. No pesticides or chemicals were involved. I truly love it.

Q: Where can people find more information on Earth Day?

A: The website has a lot of useful Earth Day information.
