NASCAR Nationwide Series, Truck Series returning to Kansas Speedway in 2011
The tough trucks of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the new cars of the NASCAR Nationwide Series will return to Kansas Speedway in 2011.
The O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race will pair with Kansas Speedway’s new NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race as part of the June 4-5 weekend. The 2010 O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 saw Johnny Sauter and Ron Hornaday battle for the victory, with Sauter visiting Victory Lane for the first time at Kansas Speedway, which continued the streak of no repeat winners in the truck series in Kansas City, Kan.
The Kansas Lottery 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race will return as part of Kansas Speedway’s October race weekend, Oct. 7-9. In nine races at Kansas Speedway, no driver has had a repeat visit to Victory Lane in the series. Former winners of the Kansas Lottery 300 include Joey Logano, Kasey Kahne, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin.
The Nationwide Series will also run a new car race in 2011.
“We’re looking forward to hosting both the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series back to Kansas Speedway in 2011,” said Kansas Speedway President Patrick Warren. “Both series are a part of exciting race weekends at Kansas Speedway.“
