BLMS eighth-grade boys roll to 7-1 record

The Basehor-Linwood Middle School varsity eighth-grade basketball team continues to motor along.

The varsity squad has picked up three more victories and is now 7-1 this season.

On Feb. 4, Basehor edged Monticello Trails for a 43-39 victory. Tim Sanders poured in 16 points for BLMS, Sean Potter had 12, Johnny Fulkerson scored eight and Jacob Merrick added eight.

Basehor came back Feb. 8 and held off Piper, 37-31 as Chase Younger scored a game-high 12 points. Potter added eight and J.P. Downing had seven.

The latest victory came Feb. 10 as BLMS cruised to a 51-23 rout of Patton. Potter scored a game-high 13 points for Basehor, Downing had eight, and Younger, Bryan Crowe and Jacob Bailey each scored six.

The BLMS JV dropped a pair of games. It lost to Monticello Trails, 48-29, on Feb. 4, and fell to Piper, 45-20, on Feb. 8. Brian Crowe scored 13 points for Basehor in the game against MTMS.
