Chamber hears Kansas Sampler update
The Leavenworth County Kansas Sampler Festival already holds promise of being the best event in the festival’s 20-year history.
Blake Waters, Kansas Sampler steering committee member, gave a presentation about the 2010 festival at Thursday’s Basehor Chamber of Commerce meeting.
Waters said the Leavenworth County festival was the first to be a county-wide effort, and it had already attracted more than 250 registrants for exhibition booths, a number that exceeds other festivals by about 10 percent.
Despite the festival’s early successes, there is still much to do, Waters said, as it will take about 400 volunteers to make the May 1-2 weekend event run smoothly.
