Elementary school planning chili feed, cooking contest
Linwood Elementary School has planned a sixth annual chili supper from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 29 as a fundraiser for special programs. These funds are traditionally used to bring educational and cultural programs to the students and will this year also be used to provide field trip busing as needed for off-site programs.
The supper will take place inside the multipurpose room of LES, with a cost of $2 per student and $5 per adult. Children 3 and under eat free. Attendees can also take part in a raffle for $1 per ticket or $5 for six tickets.
A chili cook off contest is planned in conjunction with the supper, and entrants have the opportunity to win as much as $50. The entry fee is $10, and the contest will be limited to 10 participants. For more information, or to enter the contest, call Missy Smith at (913) 219-4361.
