Bobcats lead Thunder at halftime of title game
Basehor Breathing room has been at a minimum during the first half of the Basehor-Linwood Boys Basketball Invitational championship game as St. James Academy and Basehor have gone toe-to-toe.
After battling to a 5-5 tie, St. James pulled ahead for a 10-7 lead with 3:28 left in the first quarter. That was the largest lead of the quarter as Basehor tied the game at 10-10. Two free throws by Clint McCullough sent the Thunder into the second quarter with a 12-10 lead.
The teams battled through three lead changes in the second quarter, but Basehor used a 10-1 lead to surge to a 25-18 lead. The Bobcats lead 30-24 at halftime.
McCullough leads St. James with 15 points at halftime. Colin Murphy has 13 to lead Basehor and Mark Vaca has 8.
