BLMS 7th-graders fall to PRMS, Lansing
The Basehor-Linwood Middle School seventh-grade boys basketball teams hit a few bumps in the road last week.
On Tuesday, the varsity and junior varsity squads were swept by Pioneer Ridge. On Thursday, they earned a split with Lansing.
The varsity squad lost to Pioneer Ridge, 43-31, in a game where Joe Gorman poured in 13 points. Carson Fliger scored 8 points, Landon Fliger and Jared Hiss had 3 apiece and Nathan Kenton and Jesse Smallwood each added 2.
Gorman continued to have a hot hand against Lansing as he scored 17 points in a 42-32 loss. Carson Fliger had 6 points, Cody Waterman and Hiss each scored 4 and Landon Fliger added 1 in the loss.
In the JV games, BLMS lost to Pioneer Ridge, 26-17, and beat Lansing, 31-13.
Eight different players scored for Basehor against Pioneer Ridge. Smallwood scored a team-high 4 points, Tyler Kendrick scored 3, Nathan Vitt had 2, Casey Jones had 2, Caleb White scored 2, Zach Ferguson scored 2, Nathan Kenton had 1 and Dominic Foster added 1.
Kendrick heated up for a game-high 12 points in the victory against Lansing. Matt Knight scored 6 points in the victory, Foster and Boston Henry had 4 apiece, Ferguson and Smallwood each scored 2 and Shayn Morris chipped in 1.
