Humane society plans spay/neuter transport
Leavenworth County Humane Society will have its 11th spay/neuter transport June 17 and June 18 at the Lansing Parks and Recreation Activity Center, 108 S. Second St.
The Leavenworth County Humane Society’s program partnership with No More Homeless Pets Kansas City has spayed or neutered and vaccinated 257 dogs and cats throughout Leavenworth County so far. By doing this, the two organizations have prevented more than 1,540 puppies and kittens being born homeless.
Cats must weigh 2 pounds to participate (about 12-14 weeks), and dogs must be at least 8 weeks of age. Feral cats are welcome.
Packages include spay/neuter, vaccinations, parasite treatment and an ear-tip to identify the cat as sterilized. Packages for cats start at $55.
Package prices for dogs are based on weight, starting at $82.
Additional services — such as microchip, nail trim and de-worm — are available also for a small additional fee.
