Leavenworth County to delay storm siren test until Thursday
A test of Leavenworth County Emergency Preparedness outdoor warning sirens originally scheduled for Tuesday is being postponed until later in the week.
In conjunction with the statewide efforts related to Severe Weather Awareness Week, the test of the outdoor warning siren system originally was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday but has been postponed due to a slight risk of severe weather.
It has been rescheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 11.
This change was necessary to minimize confusion to the general public, said Chuck Magaha, the county's Emergency Preparedness director.
"We appreciate the public’s patience as we strive to continue to make Leavenworth County prepared for the coming storm season," Magaha said.
