United Way honors two area volunteers
The United Way of Wyandotte County recently honored Bonner Springs residents Judith Klingele and Albert Stuchlik as a Volunteer of the Year for their respective agencies.
Klingele was honored by the Boy Scouts for the past nine years of service in which she’s been Webelos leader, a den leader, Cubmaster and Scoutmaster.
She has also served as a Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner and as a Venturing Crew Advisor. During the membership campaign, Klingele helped recruit more than 700 new scouts and 100 adults to serve in leadership roles.
Stuchlik was honored by Vaughn Trent Community Services for his 18 years of volunteer efforts. He has served as the board chair and he is a board member.
When the Vaughn-Trent Thrift Store moved to a larger location on Oak Street, Stuchlik organized volunteers to help with remodeling and personally installed shelves at the store.
When the Vaughn-Trent office assistant became ill, Stuchlik volunteered to fill in.
Both were recognized at an April 27 ceremony at the Jack Reardon Convention Center. Both the Boy Scouts and Vaughn-Trent organizations are partners with the United Way of Wyandotte County
